Litheuphaea was named by Fraser (1955). It is not extant. It is the type genus of Litheuphaeini.
It was assigned to Epallagidae by Fraser (1955); to Euphaeidae by Carpenter (1992); to Euphaeinae by Nel and Paicheler (1993); to Eodichrominae by Petrulevičius et al. (2007); and to Litheuphaeini by Bechly (1998), Bechly (2007), Archibald and Cannings (2021).
