Picunichnus benedettoi
Taxonomy
Picunichnus benedettoi was named by Calvo (1991). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is MUCPv 72, a footprint, and it is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Peninsula Nueva tracksite (level 5), which is in a Cenomanian delta plain sandstone in the Candeleros Formation of Argentina.

Digits II and IV diverge slightly with respect to digit III. Phalanges impressions are well marked and in general longer than wide. Tracks are asymmetrical, with a small heel (Calvo 1991). |
