Taxonomy
Straparollus (Straparollus) mortoni was named by Linsley and Yochelson (1973). Its type specimen is USNM 183653, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Section 7, Marvin Quarry near Afton, which is in a Givetian carbonate limestone in the Gravel Point Formation of Michigan.
