Taxonomy
Platykotta was named by Chablais et al. (2010). It is not extant. Its type is Platykotta akaina. It is the type genus of Platykottidae.
It was assigned to Eocarcinoidea by Schweitzer et al. (2010); and to Platykottidae by Chablais et al. (2010), Schweitzer et al. (2023).
