Platykotta akaina
Taxonomy
Platykotta akaina was named by Chablais et al. (2010). Its type specimen is MHNG GEPI 78420, an exoskeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Wadi Naqab, which is in a Sevatian/Rhaetian shallow subtidal wackestone in the Ghalilah Formation of the United Arab Emirates. It is the type species of Platykotta.
