Sharemys hemispherica

Taxonomy
Sharemys hemispherica was named by Gilmore (1931). Its type specimen is AMNH 6694, a partial skeleton (nearly complete carapace and plastron), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Twin Obo (Ulan Gochu horizon), which is in an Oligocene terrestrial horizon in the Ulan Gochu Formation of China. It is the type species of Sharemys.

Gilmore 1931Shell small, subhemispherical in outline; deeply notched on anterior border; marginal sulcus everywhere below peripheral suture; marginal sulcus crossing pygal; eighth neural large, crossed posterior to middle by vertebral sulcus; plastron notched at both ends; slightly protruding epiplastral lip; pectoral-abdominal sulcus at middle extending posterior to the hyo-hypoplastral suture; humeral-pectoral sulcus crossing entoplastron far forwaxd; pectoral scute on midline twice the length of the abdominal; width of bridge greater than length of posterior lobe.
