Taxonomy
Japonisaturnalis was named by Kozur and Mostler (1972) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Carn Tr Nori Sepkoski's reference number: 754]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Parasaturnalidae by De Wever (1981); and to Spumellaria by Sepkoski (2002).
