Ophiacantha subtilirugosa was named by Kristan-Tollmann and Gramann (1992). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sample S08-61KD, Sonne Cruise 8, Wombat Plateau, which is in a Rhaetian deep subtidal marl in Australia.

edge. The whole surface consists of faint, subtle, slightly undulating transversal striae, some of which are branching or vanishing. The striae slightly coarsen toward the distal rim. |
