Pachydyptes simpsoni
Taxonomy
Pachydyptes simpsoni was named by Jenkins (1974). Its type specimen is P.14157a-g, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Southern end of Blanche Point, which is in a Priabonian deep subtidal ramp marl in the Blanche Point Formation of Australia.
It was synonymized subjectively with Anthropornis nordenskjoeldi by Jenkins (1985).
