Taxonomy

Ophiocten ferrugineum was named by Boehm (1889).

It was recombined as Ophiopeza ferrugineum by Cottreau (1929).

Synonyms

Ophiolepis bigoti was named by Porte (1927). Its type specimen is Lectotype MNHN R62463 and is a 3D body fossil.

It was synonymized subjectively with Ophiopeza ferrugineum by Cottreau (1929).
