Emuarius gidju
Taxonomy
Dromaius gidju was named by Patterson and Rich (1987). Its type specimen is SAMP26779, a set of limb elements (associated distal tibiotarsal fragment, proximal tarsometatarsus, and complete set of pedal phalanges), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Leaf locality, Lake Ngapakaldi, which is in an Oligocene/Miocene fluvial-lacustrine horizon in the Wipajiri Formation of Australia.
It was recombined as Emuarius gidju by Boles (1991), Mayr (2009) and Worthy and Nguyen (2020).
