Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
R. L. Batten 1985High-spired forms with axial growth which may become progressively slower relative to whorl expansion causing the shell to be pupaeform. The whorls are flattened to somewhat convex with a sharply defined spiral rib at the base ofthe outer whorl face which forms the boundary of the flattened base. Whorls embrace just below this spiral rib. There are three spiral threads evenly spaced on the outer whorl face. Collabral ribs occupy the upper half of the whorl and form interference nodes at the intersection of the upper two spiral threads. The third spiral thread is centrally located on the lower half of the whorl face. Cryptomphalus.
