Taxonomy
Acanthoparypha goniopyga was named by Ludvigsen (1979) [Questionably assigned to this genus by the naming author. Paratypes: GSC 40449, 44272-44279]. Its type specimen is GSC 44271, a pygidium, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is District of Mackenzie Ceraurus mackenziensis zone, which is in an Edenian deep subtidal limestone in the Whittaker Formation of Canada.
