Taxonomy
Strophalosia yalwalensis was named by Briggs (1998). Its type specimen is AM F96219, a valve, and it is a mold. Its type locality is UNE L928, Durkin Spur, Burrier, which is in a Kungurian coastal sandstone in the Snapper Point Formation of Australia.
