Eomiltha was named by Cossmann (1912) [Sepkoski's age data: T Pale R]. It is extant. Its type is Lucina contorta.

It was reranked as Miltha (Eomiltha) by Stewart (1930), Vokes (1983); it was reranked as Gibbolucina (Eomiltha) by Glibert (1985), Moore (1988).
