Lenticulina was named by Lamarck (1804) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Anis-u R Sepkoski's reference number: 73]. It is extant.
It was assigned to Nodosariinae by Mailhe et al. (1967); to Nodosariidae by Asano (1949), Bertels (1964) and Fischer (1969); to Lagenidae by Wienrich (1997); to Foraminiferida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Lenticulininae by Loeblich and Tappan (1984), Margerel (2012) and Missotti (2022).
