Paraplethopeltis genacurvus was named by Hintze (1953) [Paratypes: 26171-2, 26174-5 (AMNH). Questionably assigned to genus by author.]. Its type specimen is 26173 (AMNH), a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil.
