Paraplethopeltis genarectus was named by Hintze (1953) [Paratypes: 26176-7, 26179 (AMNH). Questionably assigned to genus by author.]. Its type specimen is 26178 (AMNH), a cephalon/head (librigena), and it is a 3D body fossil.
