Taxonomy
Paranileus utahensis was named by Hintze (1953) [Paratypes: 26253, 26255-6 (AMNH).]. Its type specimen is 26254 (AMNH), a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Presbynileus utahensis by Hintze (1954).
