Taxonomy
Raymondaspis vespertinus was named by Ross and Barnes (1967) [Paratype: USNM 145763.]. Its type specimen is USNM 145762, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was corrected as Raymondaspis vespertina by Fortey (1980).
