Taxonomy
Sedgwickia guangdongensis was named by Zhang (1977). Its type specimen is IV55277, a valve (Left valve), and it is a mold. Its type locality is Liantang, Jiupo, Lianxian County, which is in a Wuchiapingian marine siliciclastic in the Longtan Formation of China.
