Taxonomy
Martiniopsis branxtonensis was named by Etheridge (1919). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Farley Railway Station, Farley (AM collection), which is in an Artinskian marine siliciclastic in the Farley Formation of Australia.

It was recombined as Martiniopsis subradiata branxtonensis by Etheridge (1892); it was recombined as Ingelarella branxtonensis by McClung (1978); it was recombined as Tomiopsis branxtonensis by Clarke (1992); it was recombined as Tomiopsis (Ambikella) branxtonensis by Waterhouse (1998); it was recombined as Geothomasia branxtonensis by Waterhouse and Shi (2010).
