Taxonomy
Luciniola was named by Skeat and Madsen (1898) [Sepkoski's age data: J Hett-u J Plie Sepkoski's reference number: 92]. Its type is Venus pumila.

It was assigned to Lucininae by Cox et al. (1969); to Veneroida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Lucinidae by Hayami (1975), Ros-Franch et al. (2014).
