Puffinus barnesi
Taxonomy
Puffinus barnesi was named by Howard (1978). Its type specimen is LACM 42652, a limb element (left humerus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Laguna Niguel, which is in a Tortonian basinal (siliciclastic) sandstone/shale in the Monterey Formation of California.
