Taxonomy
Harpes latior was named by Poulsen (1934). Its type specimen is MMH 3249, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Scotoharpes latior by Norford (1973), Ebach and McNamara (2002).
