Solenomya abbreviata was named by Frech (1912). It is not extant. Its type locality is Alsóerdő, Veszprém, which is in an Illyrian carbonate limestone in the Reiflingerkalk Formation of Hungary.
It was recombined as Solemya abbreviata by Vörös (1987).
