Amphiscapha (Cylicioscapha) texana was named by Yochelson (1956). Its type specimen is USNM 119118 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USNM, 3 miles west of Perrin, which is in a Kasimovian marine shale in the Graford Formation of Texas.
