Asiatherium
Taxonomy
Asiatherium was named by Trofimov and Szalay (1994). Its type is Asiatherium reshetovi. It is the type genus of Asiatheriidae.
It was assigned to Asiatheriidae by Trofimov and Szalay (1994), Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004); to Boreosphenida by Martin and Rauhut (2005); to Metatheria by Szalay and Trofimov (1996), Williamson et al. (2012); and to Marsupialiformes by Wilson et al. (2016).
It was assigned to Asiatheriidae by Trofimov and Szalay (1994), Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004); to Boreosphenida by Martin and Rauhut (2005); to Metatheria by Szalay and Trofimov (1996), Williamson et al. (2012); and to Marsupialiformes by Wilson et al. (2016).
