Taxonomy
Pleurotomaria (Plocostoma) neumayri was named by Gemmellaro (1889). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pietra di Salomone, calcare grossolano, Sosio, which is in a Wordian carbonate limestone in Italy. It is the type species of Pleurotomaria (Plocostoma).
It was recombined as Plocostoma neumayri by Knight (1937), Wagner (2023).
