Taxonomy
Coscinium dichotomum was named by Stuckenberg (1895).

It was recombined as Timanodictya dichotoma by Morozova and Kruchinina (1986), Ross and Ross (1987), Goryunova (1994), Sakagami and Pillevuit (1997).
