Agriopleura was named by Kühn (1832) [Sepkoski's age data: K Barr K Maes-u]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Caprotinidae by Steuber (2002); to Hippuritoida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Radiolitidae by Skelton (2013).
