Taxonomy
Chiapasella was named by Müllerried (1931) [Sepkoski's age data: K Maes-l K Maes-u Sepkoski's reference number: 972]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Hippuritoida by Sepkoski (2002); to Chiapasellidae by Bouchet et al. (2010); and to Radiolitidae by Kiessling (2003), Skelton (2013).
