Taxonomy
Janiceps lozovskyi was named by Grunt (1986). Its type specimen is PIN 3599/380 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Akhura, which is in a Changhsingian marine siliciclastic in the Ali Bashi Formation of Azerbaijan.
