Bajtugania duseevi was named by Grunt (1991). Its type specimen is PIN 3385/2148, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ilk-Uldzi Mountain, Binder Somon, which is in a Roadian marine horizon in Mongolia.
