Phaethusavis pelagicus
Taxonomy
Phaethusavis pelagicus was named by Bourdon et al. (2008). Its type specimen is OCP.KH 1084, a limb element (proximal humerus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sidi Daoui, which is in a Ypresian terrestrial phosphorite in Morocco. It is the type species of Phaethusavis.

Differs from Phaethon and Heliadornis in the following features: crista deltopectoralis evenly curved at the apex; sharp crest continuing crus dorsale fossae distally; intumescentia humeri narrower, with smoother edges; impressio coracobrachialis wider and shallower. |
