Taxonomy
Muracypraea woodringi was named by Landau and Groves (2011). Its type specimen is LACMIP 12431, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is TU 1507 - Punta Verde [Angostura Fm], which is in a Miocene coastal siliciclastic in the Angostura Formation of Ecuador.
