Aglaspoides was named by Raasch (1939) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Trep-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1031]. Its type is Aglaspoides sculptilis.
It was synonymized subjectively with Glypharthrus by Ortega-Hernandez et al. (2013).
It was assigned to Merostomata by Sepkoski (2002); to Aglaspidida by van Roy (2006); and to Aglaspididae by Størmer (1955), Hesselbo (1992), Lerosey-Aubril et al. (2017).
