Taxonomy
Diploaspis was named by Størmer (1972) [Sepkoski's age data: D Emsi-l]. It is not extant. Its type is Diploaspis casteri. It is the type genus of Diploaspididae.

It was assigned to Chasmataspidida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Diploaspididae by Dunlop et al. (2003), Poschmann et al. (2005).
