Taxonomy
Neopronorites asianus was named by Leonova (1988). Its type specimen is PIN 3591/316 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Shindy River, Kochusu Suite, Pamir Mountains, which is in a Kungurian marine horizon in the Kochusu Formation of Tajikistan.
