Corbula nitida was named by Sowerby (1822). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Lentidium nitidum by Curry (1959); it was recombined as Lentidium (Ajanssenium) nitidum by Marquet et al. (2008).

    It was recombined as Corbulomya nystii by Cossmann (1891); it was recombined as Aloides (Lentidium) nysti by Glibert and de Heinzelin (1954); it was synonymized subjectively with Lentidium (Ajanssenium) nitidum by Marquet et al. (2008).
