Taxonomy
Megalodon longjiangensis was named by Liang (1980). Its type specimen is Bi10079 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Xinlin Gongshe, Longjiang County, which is in a Capitanian marine horizon in the Liutiagou Formation of China.
