Uruguaysuchus aznarezi

Taxonomy
Uruguaysuchus aznarezi was named by Rusconi (1933). Its type specimen is CA (unnumbered), a partial skeleton (A complete skull, mandible, right forelimb, 18 vertebrae, both ilia and partial right hindlimb, as well as a few associated osteoderms), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Guichón (water well), which is in a Cenomanian/Santonian fluvial sandstone in the Guichón Formation of Uruguay. It is the type species of Uruguaysuchus.

  • Uruguaysuchus terrai was named by Rusconi (1933). Its type specimen is CA (unnumbered), a skull (Complete mandible and skull in articulation), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Guichón (water well), which is in a Cenomanian/Santonian fluvial sandstone in the Guichón Formation of Uruguay.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Uruguaysuchus aznarezi by Soto et al. (2011).
