Diplorrhina was named by Hawle and Corda (1847) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm uMid-l Cm uMid-u].

It was synonymized subjectively with Peronopsis by Palmer (1954).

It was assigned to Peronopsidae by Whittington et al. (1997); to Metagnostidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Agnostida by Sepkoski (2002).
