Ivshinagnostus was named by Ergaliev (1980) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Fran-l Sepkoski's reference number: 459]. It is not extant. Its type is Ivshinagnostus ivshini.

It was assigned to Agnostida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Agnostidae by Jell and Adrain (2002).
