Semadiscus was named by Romanenko (1978) [In: Repina & Romanenko (1978). Sepkoski's age data: Cm Boto-l]. It is not extant. Its type is Semadiscus sollennis.

It was assigned to Agnostida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Weymouthiidae by Jell and Adrain (2002).
