Taxonomy
Sapho legrandi was named by Nel and Petrulevičius (2010). Its type specimen is MNHN-LP-R 63847, a wing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Les Figons, route d'Eguille, which is in an Oligocene lacustrine - large horizon in France. It is the type species of Sapho.
