Taxonomy
Bronteopsis was named by Nicholson and Etheridge (1879). Its type is Ogygia concentrica.

It was assigned to Stygininae by Owen and Bruton (1980); to Corynexochida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Styginidae by Skjeseth (1955) and Jell and Adrain (2002).
