Taxonomy
Bellerophon (Bellerophon) yochelsoni was named by Pan and Erwin (2002) [Bellerophon (Bellerophon)]. Its type specimen is USNM 127588, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Matan M47, Heshan, which is in a Changhsingian carbonate limestone in the Heshan Formation of China.
