Taxonomy
Labes garimondi was named by Pol et al. (1992). Its type specimen is U.S.T.L. GAR 007, a tooth (right M/1 or 2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Champ-Garimond, which is in a Campanian/Campanian terrestrial horizon in France.
