Taxonomy
Macrochilina conspicua was named by de Koninck (1881). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bolland, Yorkshire (= Queensbury, Bradford), which is in a Brigantian carbonate limestone in the Danny Bridge Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Ianthinopsis conspicua by Batten (1966).
